Cosine Special Edition
A refreshing mixture of latin rhythm, percussive bass and inspiring guitar, and melodic vocals, and you have Cosine.
Mark Brooks, the guitarist for Cosine Special Edition was formerly a guest artist on the recording of "Backlash" for the single "Soft and Easy". The recording was used as a signature song for the radio station WHUR's "Quiet Storm" also he performed with Golden Touch, backing Eddie Kendricks of the "Temptations." Check him out on "Cloudy" our feature song from our first CD soon to be re-released. He has also incorporated his ability to play keyboards on songs such as "Imelle" which is also on the first CD.
Edward Brooks, the drummer, and originally a percussionist, recorded with "Backlash" for "Soft and Easy" on percussions with them and other local and national acts. You will hear this in his style of playing on the first Cosine Special Edition CD. Take a listen to the song "Mysterious Knights."
Ernie Reese, was the original bass player for Backlash on "Soft and Easy" and one of the original members of Cosine. He is a talented and energetic bassist, and quick to make it funky.
Tonyette Bables, lead vocalist, she performed with Bables and Brash, a vocal group in Texas before working with Cosine on their first CD Cosine Special Edition. She is also a original member of the Cosine group. You can hear a sample of her vocals on our http://myspace.com/elementsofcosine web page. She is terrific!
Cosine Performance at Laurel Lakes, MD
Their debut CD is a combination of smooth Jazz-Fusion, Rock, Latin and Hip Hop. Their rendition of Average White Bands "Cloudy" is awesome! And the originals "Just like that and Jessie" are "tight". They are currently working on a second CD, and it has a more R&B feel.
